James has a God given desire and passion to proclaim and defend the truth of Christianity.  James has been married to his high school sweetheart Tina for almost 30 years. He cherishes his marriage and recognizes it is an institution designed by God.  Besides accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior, his choice to marry Tina was the most important decision of his life.  James is also a father of 6 children and has a great passion for building and promoting strong family values based on the principles in the Bible.  He values the relationship he has with his children and is sobered by the truth of 1 Timothy 3:5 “For if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?” James and his family reside in Southern California.

James has a wide variety of interests but values most his personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. James recognizes he is saved by grace through faith and without God he has NOTHING to boast about. He believes with God in your life, you then have the incredible opportunity to live life with purpose and meaning and truly experience the abundant life Christ talks about in His Word.

James has a diverse background in business, pastoring and teaching, which gives him unique leadership insights and perspectives.  James is a business man, entrepreneur, conference speaker, Christian Apologist, Blogger, and Regional Supervisor. He has functioned as a lay pastor in Southern California for over 20 years, teaching and preaching the Bible, the Word of God. For more information regarding his local church family see http://www.socalbiblestudy.com

James earned his Bachelor’s degree from Cal State University San Bernardino in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Marketing. He also holds an associate degree from Riverside City College. James graduated from Management Leadership Academy in 2013 and holds multiple business certifications.  In his secular work as a regional supervisor he enjoys teaching business principles, including effective management and leadership skills. He is actively involved in coaching and mentoring his employees to help them maximize their God given talents.  However his real passion and calling is encouraging people to serve the Lord, teaching truth from the Bible, proclaiming the Good News of the gospel, and defending the Christian worldview.

James recently received his certification and graduated from the Cross-Examined Instructor Academy with Dr. Frank Turek.  In this seminar, they answer the major questions to establish why Christianity is the most reasonable worldview.  He has also been accepted into Biola University’s Certificate Program in Christian Apologetics. After completing this program James will continue to pursue his M.A. of Christian Apologetics at Biola University.

While education has some value James recognizes the most important “credential” is our connection with Jesus as emphasized by the following passage of Scripture in Acts 4:13 “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”

Over the last several years James has seen the increased importance of Apologetics in the church.  Many Christians do not know why they believe what they believe.  He believes the Bible commands all Christians to be prepared to defend their faith.  We should be like the Bereans and seek truth with an open mind!

We are commanded in 1 Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer (or defense) to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.  But do this with gentleness and respect.”

The Apostle Paul also said this in 2 Corinthians 10:5, “Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

Some of this renewed desire to defend the faith was triggered by some personal experiences James and his family went through including the death of their oldest daughter, the loss of his mom to cancer, the recent death of his father, and other trials that many experience.  James was also impacted by the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, Ca. on December 2, 2015.  It was the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since the September 11 attacks.  He lost 14 co-workers and 22 were seriously injured.  These and other acts of evil leave many questions:  Why would a good God allow pain and suffering?  Does God exist?  What happens when I die?  Is the Bible true?  What is the purpose of my life?

In our culture today, people are searching for answers to life’s toughest questions like never before and are even wondering whether it matters what you believe.  It is James desire to show believers and unbelievers alike that there are many compelling reasons to believe Christianity is true.  It stands firm on logic and reason, as well as faith. A large focus of his ministry is to help equip believers everywhere be prepared to defend their faith.

Hi, my name is James.  Thank you for visiting my site!  The mission of Generation Equipped Ministries is to equip the next generation and those that influence them with a Biblical worldview.  Our desire is to inspire and equip Christians to proclaim and defend the truth of Christianity.   God has placed a passion and desire within me to share the life transforming power of the gospel.  However, many times we face objections and we are not as prepared as we would to be. That is why it is so critical to become equipped and be able to defend and articulate truth.  To be effective, we must always strive to engage people in the spirit of love.

So let me tell you a little bit about me.  I have been married to my best friend and high school sweetheart Tina for 34 years. I cherish my marriage and recognize it is an institution designed by God.  Besides accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, my choice to marry Tina was the most important decision of my life.  I am also proud to be the father of 6 children.  I have a tremendous desire to build and promote strong family values based on the principles in the Bible.  I am so blessed to have special relationships with each of my children and am sobered by the truth of 1 Timothy 3:5 “For if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?” My family and I reside in Southern California.

I have a wide variety of interests.  I have served in ministry for over 25 years.  I value most my personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a sinner saved by grace through faith and without God I have NOTHING to boast about.  I believe with God in your life, you have the incredible opportunity to live life with purpose and meaning and truly experience the abundant life Christ talks about in His Word.

My background is pretty diverse.  I have significant experience in business, parenting, pastoring and teaching, which gives me some unique leadership insights and perspectives.  One of my favorite roles is in youth ministry and coaching sports.  In addition to my work as a Christian apologist, I have functioned as an associate pastor in Southern California for over 25 years, teaching and preaching the Bible, the Word of God.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State University San Bernardino in Administration with an emphasis in Marketing, Management and Leadership.  I also hold an associate degree from Riverside City College in Business Administration.  I graduated from the Management Leadership Academy in 2013 which is a private business school sponsored by CSUSB.  In my secular work as a regional supervisor I enjoy teaching business principles.  I focus on developing a growth mindset, maximizing your current skills and talents, and developing effective management and leadership skills.

I received my certification and graduated from the Cross-Examined Instructor Academy with Dr. Frank Turek in 2016.  I have returned each year as an alumni and also attended the first Advanced Cross Examined Instructor Academy in Dallas Texas.  In this seminar, they answer the major questions to establish why Christianity is the most reasonable worldview. To learn more about Dr. Fank's ministry click here.  I am featured on the Cross-Examined speaker directory here.

I graduated from the School of Biblical Evangelism in September of 2021.  This is a comprehensive curriculum with over 100 lessons ranging from basic Christian doctrines to knowing our enemy.  It helps equip you to answer questions that will arise as you witness and share the gospel.  It covers subjects like the authenticity of the Bible, providing evidence for creation, refuting the claims of evolution, understanding the beliefs of cults and other religions and worldviews, and how to effectively reach your friends and strangers with the gospel.  This is sponsored by Living Waters.  Ray Comfort is the founder and CEO.

I successfully completed the course of study in the Christian Apologetics Certificate program at Biola University in 2023.  I have attended and completed many on campus as well as distance learning courses in apologetics and philosophy designed to equip and prepare you to defend the Christian worldview.

While education has it's value I recognize the most important “credential” is our connection with Jesus as emphasized by the following passage of Scripture in Acts 4:13 “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”
